About QVS:

QVS is Australia’s longest established, privately owned 24/7 specialist hospital. Based across two sites with plans to grow. We are a diverse group of specialists, emergency vets, nurses, technicians and support professionals that are committed to working collaboratively to provide compassionate veterinary expertise 24/7. Current disciplines include internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care, diagnostic imaging, theriogenology, dermatology, dentistry, anaesthesia and cardiology with immediate plans to expand our services. 

Interns undergo comprehensive training in all clinical disciplines, with a focus on Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Surgery. Emphasis is also placed on familiarising interns with referral and specialist practice processes, honing their skills in data collection and analysis, and preparing them for manuscript presentations at scientific meetings.

Commencing January 2025:

  • Embark on a dynamic 12-month program.

  • Enjoy 24/7 supervision and access to specialist case advice.

  • Receive support for pursuing further training opportunities, such as specialty internships, residency programs, graduate studies, or advanced general practice.

  • Engage in a robust didactic teaching program featuring weekly seminars, RECOVER certification, procedures wet labs, and ultrasound training.

  • A comprehensive remuneration package and didactic learning program are provided.

  • Interns will rotate through referral services, taking on primary case responsibilities with 24/7 access to specialist support.

Requirements of the Role:

  • Successful applicants should be committed, intelligent, open-minded scientists, and dedicated, willing, enthusiastic veterinarians, regardless of experience level.

  • Graduation and completion of Bachelor Veterinary Science, Doctor Veterinary Medicine or equivalent

  • Registerable veterinarian in Queensland, Australia by course commencement
