The Reproduction Link
In 1994 an Australian Grand Champion Saluki by the name of Jack deposited frozen semen as an investment into the future of the Saluki breed.
On the 3rd of May 2011 Phillip Thomas inseminated ‘Ahmadi Heart to Heart’ or Paige as we know her, with the frozen semen from Jack.
With an insemination that was scientifically calculated and precisely delivered, Phil confirmed by ultrasound on the 27th of May that one pup had successfully been conceived.
On the 1st of July Phil continued his support by performing a caesarean and delivering a priceless pedigree pup by the name of Jackie.
The Saluki Experience
I am an Australian Grand Champion Saluki breeder and have bred Salukis for over 30 years. Jack is our purebred Saluki that was Australia’s biggest winning Saluki ever at the time. At the age of 6 years I decided to retire Jack.
As Jack been a very successful stud dog in his day, earlier in 2011 year I decided that it was time that my breeding program needed his influence again, so I decided to mate him to Ahmadi Heart to Heart (Paige). As Phil successfully produced a litter of 10 pups for me by American frozen semen 4 years ago, he was naturally my choice of vet once again. When you are doing this sort of thing you can’t afford to have mistakes made, you have to go to the best. And in my mind, Phil is the best there is when it comes to reproduction.
Later this year I intend to mate a bitch from the previous successful frozen semen mating I did to other frozen semen I have from America, and naturally Phil will once again be my reproduction vet of choice.
